Cue the music

The show (Children of Eden) opens tonight.
And as I’ve said in a previous post, it’s been great playing music again.
And it’s been great to be involved in live theatre too. It’s been a good reminder
of what makes theatre so compelling.
Smoke and mirrors. Suspending your disbelief. Eavesdropping. Imagination.
The opportunity to share a now moment with complete strangers.

One could be worried about getting every single note/line/nuance just right.
One could think, “Well, it’s just a community theatre production in a small town.
Nothing we do is going to disturb the universe. Our being perfect or imperfect won’t
lead to a nuclear war or world hunger. It’s no big deal.”
Or one could think about how good it is: to create, to imagine, to share, to be.
